How to Change a Headlight on a 2001 Durango

Save

The 2001 Durango must have properly working headlights at all time while being driven on the road. The headlight on the 2001 Durango is accessible on the inside of the engine compartment behind the front of the headlight. The headlight is secured to the headlight fixture by a plastic connector that also connects the headlight's wiring harness. You will not need tools or preparation to complete this job. Replacing the headlights on the 2001 Dodge Durango will take you five minutes or less for each headlight.

Things You'll Need

  • New headlight light bulbs
  • Open the hood of the 2001 Dodge Durango and locate the plastic connector on the rear of the headlight fixture. Squeeze the sides of the connector using your hand and pull the connector off of the headlight fixture.

  • Pull the headlight bulb out of the headlight connector using your hands. Insert the new headlight bulb into the headlight fixture.

  • Insert the headlight connector into the headlight fixture and push the connector until the connector locks into place on the fixture. Repeat these steps for the opposite headlight.
