Homemade Hand Lotion
Skin care products are documented to have been around since 3000 B.C. According to Skin Care News, "ancient Greeks slathered lead all over their faces to whiten skin and clear blemishes," which had detrimental consequences such as permanent facial disfigurement. Technology has made facial products such as lotions safe; however, they still contain chemicals. If you want to be sure you know what is in the lotion you are using, you can make your own at home. Things You'll Need
- 1/2 oz. cocoa butter
- 1 oz. olive oil
- 1 oz. orange juice
- 2 drops essential orange flower oil
- Small jar, plastic container or lotion bottle

Melt cocoa butter over low heat or in a double boiler to prevent scorching

Pour 1 oz. of olive oil in a glass measuring cup and warm it in a microwave for 15 seconds.

Mix the melted cocoa butter, warm olive oil, orange juice and two drops of essential orange flower oil in a blender until frothy and fluffy.

Pour the mixture into the desired container and store in the refrigerator.

If lotion separates, stir prior to using.
