Durable ceramic tile adds earthiness to any bathroom or kitchen. Deep cleaning and maintenance are necessary to showcase the tile's true beauty. Made by heating clay silicates, ceramic tiles are available with or without glazing. For extremely dirty ceramic tile, use chlorine bleach to brighten the tile and grout.
Things You'll Need
- Chlorine bleach
- Cloth or mop
- Grout brush
Mix equal parts of bleach and warm water in a bucket. Remove any obstacles or fixtures that may get in the way.
Dip a cloth or mop into the bleach solution and wring it out. Wipe or mop the ceramic tile, working in one small section at a time. Rinse the mop or cloth in the bucket frequently to remove the dirt.
Dip a grout brush into the bleach solution and scrub between each tile, saturating the grout with cleaner. Let it sit for five to 10 minutes.
Empty the bucket and rinse the mop or cloth with clean water. Refill the bucket with water and use the mop or cloth to rinse the tile.
Dry the ceramic tile and grout with clean towels.
