Make homemade soy candles.

For the crafty candle lover, making your own candles at home is easier than you might think. If you follow the instructions carefully, you can create enchantingly scented candles to give as gifts or use at home. Simplify the candle-making process more by using soy wax. Soy wax is easier to handle and prepare and can be scented without affecting the candle's consistency. Choose whatever scent you find most appealing and add it to the soy wax to make a personalized scented candle.

Step 4

Check the soy flakes after five minutes to make sure they have melted completely.

Put the melted flakes into a measuring cup. You should have 15 fluid oz. of liquid soy flakes. If not, add more flakes to the cup until you reach 15 oz.

Step 6

Add 1 oz. of fragrance oil to the wax flakes and mix until the oil disappears into the wax.
