How to Create a Commercial Lending Flyer

Creating a flyer is a creative way to advertise a commercial lending company. Flyers are also inexpensive to produce and distribute. Place them on windshields, distribute them during networking events, give them away on the street or hang them on public bulletin boards. Flyers are also good to leave behind after a meeting or impromptu business conversation.

Design your flyer on paper. Sit down and draw the flyer before opening your design software. Get a sheet of paper and brainstorm ideas. Include all the necessary information on your mock-up. Write down anything you plan to include on your flyer. Include a phone number, email address, website and any other relevant information. Remember to include a strong call to action. A call to action asks the reader to do something, like call to request more information. Make note of where you want graphics to go as well.

    • 2

Open your design software. Start with a basic 8.5 by 11 letter-sized page layout. Choose the fonts you want to use on the flyer. It is good design practice to limit fonts to no more than two per page. Too many fonts on one page looks messy and unprofessional.

According to the National Association of Mortgage Brokers, 12 states require commercial lending companies to have licensing. If you live in a state that requires licensing (check with your state banking or lending division), include this information on your flyer. Potential customers will know your commercial lending company is legitimate and will be more likely to trust your services.

    • 3

Design your flyer using your design software. Adobe PhotoShop and GimpShop are examples of design software. Place graphics on the page first. Use the flyer you drew as a guide. When the graphics are in place, add your text. Position the graphics and text in an appealing fashion. Align objects so the flyer has a sense of order. Aligning objects on the flyer prevents a cluttered and messy look.

Print your flyer. Print your flyer at the office, at home or at a professional printer. Printing at your home or the office is convenient. A professional printer can print hundreds of flyers for a fee. You can also choose paper from a professional printer that is more durable than store-brought printing paper.

Tips & Warnings

  • Check your flyer for spelling errors and missing information.

  • Printing hundreds of flyers from home will use a lot of ink. Consider using a professional printer if you need a lot of flyers.
