How to Refill the Ink Cartridges for an HP60 Deskjet F4280 Printer
The ink cartridges for the HP60 Deskjet F4280 printer can be easily refilled by using an ink cartridge refill kit. These refill kits are very economical and can save you about 30 percent on ink costs compared to ink cartridges purchased in a store, according to CNET Consumer Alerts. Refilling your own ink cartridges is also environmentally friendly since there is less waste compared to store-bought cartridges. Although refilling ink cartridges is easy, make sure to lay down some newspaper because it can get a little messy.
Instructions

1
Poke a hole in the top of the ink cartridge using a sewing needle. Black ink cartridges require only one hole, while color ink cartridges must be poked three times since there are three ink wells.
-
2
Fill up the syringe that comes with the ink refill kit. Make sure to fill ink cartridges only with the color they previously held. Mixing inks will result in inaccurate coloring on printouts.
-
-
3
Place the tip of the syringe in the needle hole. Slowly empty the ink into the cartridge to prevent foaming and bubbles. Foam and bubbles can be detrimental to print quality.
-
4
Install the ink cartridge in your printer and run the cleaning cycle at least one time. This will clean the ink cartridge and result in higher quality printouts.
