How to Set the Alarm on a Clock Radio

Most clock radios include an alarm.

While setting the alarm on a clock radio can vary depending on the style of the radio, the basic procedures are the same. Follow the steps below and it should be easy to schedule the alarm on your radio for the desired time.

Instructions

1. Locate the "Alarm" setting on your clock radio. Push the "Alarm" button or move the switch to the "Alarm" setting.

2. Set the time using the same buttons used to set the time for the clock, but first ensure that you're in the "Alarm" mode by either holding down the "Alarm" button or switching to the "Alarm" setting.

3. Choose the ringer setting. Most clock radios with an alarm offer an "Auto" (radio) alarm or an audible (bell) alarm.

4. Double check to verify the alarm is set. Some clock radios will show a picture of a bell on the screen to indicate the alarm is set. Some clock radios require you to leave the setting button on "Alarm" for it to sound.

Tips & Warnings

• It's a good idea to test the alarm by setting it just a few minutes ahead and waiting. If electric powered, it's also a good idea to have a battery-powered back-up alarm clock in case the electricity goes out during the night.
