Uniden Telephones Troubleshooting
Upgrade your telephone from 900MHz or 2.4GHz to 5.8GHz or DECT (1.9GHz) if you are having clarity problems. Turn off your microwave oven and unplug your Wi-Fi router and see if you can isolate the noise if you are using a 2.4GHz phone. Upgrade your phone from 2.4GHz if you are experiencing this interference. You can usually identify the frequency of the phone on labels or within the product information on the bottom of the phone.

Move the handset closer to the base if a handset can’t make or receive calls. Check the power supply to the base unit. Make sure it’s plugged in and make sure the telephone line is plugged into the base unit.

3
Move around while you are talking on the phone if you experience problems. Try to identify areas of the home where the phone picks up interference, and where it doesn’t. See if the noise gets louder at certain spots and try to isolate the noise by turning off electrical equipment in the vicinity. Culprits can be microwaves, computers, florescent lights and other radio equipment amongst other things.

4
Charge the battery fully. Plug it in for a day and see if that improves matters.

5
Add a broadband DSL Internet filter to the phone line. There should be one already, but if you are experiencing static, have DSL Internet and there isn’t a filter—then that’s the cause.
