How to Find the Fuse for the Lighter in a 1996 Toyota Camry LE

Save

The cigarette lighter fuse in your 1996 Toyota Camry LE is a 15-amp fuse in the internal fuse panel. The fuse is one of many in the internal fuse panel. When your cigarette lighter stops working, the fuse is the best place to start when troubleshooting. You can access and check the fuses yourself in minutes, saving substantial repair center fees for troubleshooting. Buy replacement fuses at an auto parts retail store.

Things You'll Need

  • Flashlight
  • Open the driver side door of your Camry. Crawl under the dash area with a flashlight and locate the fuse panel door for the instrument panel. The door is located on the driver side, just inside the door beneath the dash.

  • Remove the cover from the instrument panel fuse box. Grasp the indentation in the cover and pull it straight off.

  • Locate the top row of fuses and count over three fuses from the left side in the top row. The third fuse in from the left side is the cigarette lighter fuse.
