How to Change Default Font in Windows
The Windows operating system gives you the flexibility to change its appearance based on your preferences. You can customize each of its elements--including menus, icons and title bars--with the help of a wide variety of options given to you as a user. Here's how to change the type, size and color of the default system font for Windows.

Windows XP users

Right-click anywhere on your desktop. Select "Properties." This will launch a separate window for "Display Properties."

Click on the tab titled "Appearance." Click the "Advanced" button.

Click on the drop-down menu in the "Items" box. Select the element of Windows (icons, menus, title bars etc.) whose font you wish to change.

Click on the "Font" drop-down menu to change the font (to such options as Times New Roman, Arial, Tahoma, Courier New) Click on the "Size" drop-down menu to change the font size.

Click on "Apply." Click "OK."
Windows Vista or 7 users

Right-click anywhere on the desktop and select "Personalize."

Click on "Windows Colors and Appearance."

Click on the link "Open classic appearance properties for more color options."

Click on the "Advanced..." button in the "Appearance Settings" dialog box.

Click on the "Font" drop-down menu to change the font (to such options as Times New Roman, Arial, Tahoma and Courier New). Click on the "Size" drop-down menu to change the font size. Click on "Apply." Click "OK."
