Even if you live in a warm climate, your kids can still partake in one of the most fun activities of wintertime, playing in the snow! They can make their own fake snow right at home in just a few seconds using two common household ingredients.
Step 1
Put a tablespoon of baking soda in a bowl.

Step 2
Add a shot glass full of water and watch the baking soda expand to create fake snow.
Step 3
Separate and fluff up the fake snow with your fingers.
Tip
You can make a larger quantity of snow by proportionally increasing the amount of baking soda and water.
Warning
Make sure you have a container that can handle the expansion of the baking soda and water or you may end up with a big overflowing mess. It's best to set this project up outdoors because it’s hard to predict how much the baking soda and water will expand.
