How to Remove the Alternator on a 1999 Toyota Avalon
The alternator on the 1999 Toyota Avalon is located high on the front of the engine near the driver's side of the engine compartment. It serves to recharge the battery in your Avalon after starting the vehicle as well a providing electrical current to the ignition system, lights and other electrical components when the vehicle is running. If it stops working, the only source of power for the ignition, lights and other components will be the battery. If you think the alternator is failing, remove it right away and have it bench tested, replacing it with a new one if needed.
