How to Reset an XBox 360 Wireless Controller

The wireless controller for the Xbox 360 allows users to play games on their consoles without the need to stretch cords across the room. Before use, the wireless controller must be synchronized with the Xbox 360 console and will stay connected to the console after both the controller and gaming system are turned off. There are some steps you will need to take to reset the synchronization for a new console.
Turn on the wireless controller by pressing and holding the "Guide" button in the center of the controller. The lights around the guide button should begin to flash.
Turn on the Xbox 360 console by pressing the "Power" button.
Press the "Sync" button on the Xbox 360 console. It is located just below the memory card slots and above the power button.
Press the "Sync" button on the wireless controller. This button is located on the front of the controller beside the charge port.
Watch the ring of light. It should stop flashing and one quadrant should remain lit. This indicates the controller's position. If only one device is connected to the Xbox 360 console, the top left quadrant light should remain on to indicate the controller is in the first position.
Tips
If the "Guide" button does not flash when you press it, check the batteries. They may need to be replaced.
Warnings
The wireless controller can only be synced to one console at a time. If you reset the controller on a new console, you will have to reset it again to use it on another Xbox 360 console.
