Tissue paper crowns are great for many occasions because they are simple and inexpensive to make. Making tissue paper crowns can be a child's birthday party activity or used for dress-up. Crowns can be made for an adult's birthday or the promotion of an office mate or they can be folded up and inserted in Christmas crackers. Making tissue paper crowns only takes about five minutes and utilizes a few everyday items.
Step 1
Cut the long way down a sheet of tissue paper to make a three-inch-wide strip.

Glue, tape or staple the strip into a circle that will fit the recipient's head. About 17 inches is the right size for a child; make an adult crown about 21 inches if you cannot measure the recipient's head directly.
Step 3
Make a vertical fold in the center of the crown, and then fold the crown in half vertically two or three times. You will have a rectangle two to three inches wide.
Step 4
Cut the top of the crown at an angle or into a fancy shape. When you unfold the crown, the design will be repeated along the top edge.
Tip
Use a hole punch or craft scissors to make more elaborate designs.
Warning
Tissue paper is very delicate and tears easily. If you are making a crown for a child, cut a nine-inch-wide strip of the tissue paper and fold it horizontally into thirds to make it sturdier to work with and wear.
