How to Get Small Dings & Dents Out of a Truck

Although not all dents can be removed without the help of a professional, if the dent is not very large, you can try some general techniques at home and attempt to reverse the damage to the body of the truck. Clean your existing plunger or purchase a new one. Position the plunger over the center of the dent, if the dent is the size of a cantaloupe or larger.

Pump the plunger in and out for 10 seconds or until a good strong suction develops.

Grip the plunger and firmly pull until the dent pops out. Stop the procedure if the dent does not budge after a few tries.
Mallet

Purchase a mallet that corresponds with the size of the dent. Avoid using a mallet that is smaller than the size of the dent, as this may result in hammer-head damage to the body of the truck that will be visible when the dent is removed.

Position the head of the mallet as near to the center of the dent as you can on the underside of the truck panel.

Carefully yet forcefully tap the truck panel. Wait for the dent to start to pop and then give a firm hit in the center. Repeat until the dent pops out. Stop the procedure if the dent does not budge after a few tries.

Place the handle of a large screwdriver near the center of the dent on the underside of the truck panel.

Hold the screwdriver steady against the dent and gently tap the tip of the screwdriver with a hammer.

Wear dry ice gloves to protect your hands from burns.
