Instructions

  1. Hanging a Bead Curtain

    • 1

Place one of the curtain rod brackets flush against the window casing at the inside top corner of the window. Mark the spots for the screws onto the casing with a pencil.

    • 2

Drill pilot holes over each mark. Attach the bracket to the window casing.

    • 3

Measure the exact placement of the bracket and then attach the second bracket on the opposite window casing. Follow these same steps if you'd like to hang a curtain of beads in a doorway.

    • 4

Add a monofilament line loop to each beaded strand, if necessary. The curtain of beads may already have a loop for hanging. To add a loop, cut a 10-inch length of monofilament line. Thread it halfway through the last few beads on the strand. Knot the ends of the line together with a triple overhand knot. Cover the knot with jeweler's glue and let it dry.

    • 5

Thread the curtain rod through the loops in each bead strand. Place the curtain rod onto the brackets.

    Hanging a Metal Curtain

    • 6

Place one of the curtain rod brackets flush against the window casing at the inside top corner of the window. Mark the spots for the screws onto the casing with a pencil. Drill pilot holes over each mark and attach the bracket to the window casing.

    • 7

Measure the exact placement of the bracket and then attach the second bracket on the opposite window casing. Follow these same steps if you'd like to hang a curtain of beads in a doorway.

    • 8

Draw a straight pencil line 1 inch from the top edge of the metal curtain panel. The line should extend from end to end along the width of the metal panel.

    • 9

Drill small holes in the line every 5 inches. Cut a 6-inch strip of wire for every drilled hole.

    • 10

Insert the wire halfway through the hole. Twist the ends together to make a loop at the top of the metal curtain panel. Repeat this step to add a wire loop to each drilled hole.

    • 11

Thread the wire loops over the curtain rod. Hang the curtain rod onto the brackets.
