How to Remove a Wiper Blade Arm
Windshield wiper blades must be maintained to see clearly when driving in the rain. Over time, the blades will wear out and will need to be replaced. Removing the full wiper arm properly ensures that no damage is done to the piece at the base of the arm. Many newer vehicles make it easier to remove wiper arms because current manufacturing methods keep simplicity and quickness in mind.

1
Gently pull one wiper arm at a time about 4 to 6 inches from the windshield. This will give you enough room to work with when removing the entire arm.
-
2
Pop the release lever using a small screwdriver. This small lever, or lock, is attached to the base where the arm is connected to.

-
3
Set the wiper arm back down so that it lies on the popped release lever. At this point, the wiper should hang about an inch or 2 from the windshield. You know that the arm is loose enough to remove if it simply hangs, rather than clings to the windshield.

4
Mark which wiper blade goes on which side of the windshield. The driver side blade will be longer, and the passenger side blade will be shorter. For replacement purposes, mark which blade goes on what side so they are reinstalled correctly.

5
Grab the wiper arm at the base of the release lock and lift it up. It should slide off easily.
