How to Make Homemade Liquid Rouge

Save

Homemade liquid rouge is a simple, easy-to-make alternative to expensive store-bought rouges and colorings. Made with simple, all-natural ingredients that can easily be found in most health food or drug stores, making your own liquid rouge will save you a substantial amount of money and limit your exposure to allergens, chemicals, preservatives and unnatural additives. This recipe makes enough liquid rouge for about one month of daily application. Store the liquid rouge in a cool, dark place between uses for maximum longevity.

Things You'll Need

  • 1/8 tsp. food coloring of your choice
  • 2 tbsp. denatured alcohol
  • Small mixing bowl or measuring cup
  • ¼ cup liquid glycerin
  • Small wooden spoon or glass stirrer
  • ½ cup rose flower water
  • Glass or plastic bottle
  • Cotton pads (optional)
  • Dissolve the food coloring in the denatured alcohol in a small mixing bowl or measuring cup.

  • Add the liquid glycerin and stir the mixture with a small wooden spoon or glass stirrer until all of the ingredients are well combined.

  • Pour the rose flower water into a glass or plastic bottle. Add the food coloring, alcohol and glycerin mixture to the bottle with the rose water and shake gently for about 15 seconds to combine the ingredients.
