How to Set Up a Bravia LCD TV

Save

The Bravia is Sony's line of LCD high-definition televisions. Although the sizes of the TVs can differ, all Bravia televisions are set up in the same way. You can purchase your HD television from electronic stores, such as Best Buy, Target, and Walmart, that carry HDTVs. Once back at your home, you can set the Bravia TV up without the aid of a television technician from the store.

Things You'll Need

  • Sony Bravia LCD TV
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Set the box straight up and open the top flaps. Along the corners of the box there are foam pieces holding the TV in place. Remove these pieces and slide the screen of the TV out.

  • Set the screen to the side where nothing can come in contact with it and remove the base and the bag of items you need.

  • Place the base flat on a smooth surface. The base has a small area that protrudes up a few inches. This part is inserted into the bottom of the TV. Take your Bravia TV and slide it down over the base. Although it locks into place, it is not completely secure yet.

  • Remove the four screws from the bag that accompanied the TV. On the back of the TV set where the base meets the LCD screen, there are four holes for screws. Tighten these screws with a Phillips screwdriver.

  • Pick up the TV carefully and place it on your entertainment stand or wherever you want the TV to be. Connect it to your cable, antenna or any other device you want on the TV. If running high-definition devices, run the HDMI cable from the outside device and plug it into one of the HDMI ports on the TV. For component devices, plug the component cables into the component ports on the rear of the TV.

  • Power on the television and begin enjoying your high-definition LCD picture.
