How to Make a Rosary Bracelet Directions

Rosary bracelets are small one-decade rosaries designed to be worn around the wrist. A one-decade rosary consists of 10 Hail Mary beads and one larger Our Father Bead. Most rosary bracelets are crafted with chain and eyepins. As with full-sized rosaries, rosary bracelets have small crucifixes and saint medals (usually the Miraculous Medal) attached between the large bead and the first smaller bead. Most rosary bracelets measure around 7-1/2 inches in length, but the length can be adjusted by adding or removing chain. Wearing a rosary bracelet is a reminder of prayer and its power.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the loop of the eye pin using the flat nose pliers to twist the loop sideways. Insert the loop of eye pin into the end of the link of a five-link chain. Use the flat nose pliers to close the loop.

    • 2

Place the 8mm bead onto the wire of the eye pin. Bend the wire perpendicular to the loop on the other side of the bead. Use the wire cutter to trim the wire that extends past the bead to about 3/8 inch.

    • 3

Grip the end of the wire firmly with the round nose pliers. Rotate your wrist to roll the wire towards the bead, forming a loop identical to the eye of the eye pin. Leave a small opening in the loop for the next step.

    • 4

Insert a link of the three-link chain into the opening of the eye pin. Close the loop using the round nose pliers.

    • 5

Repeat step 1 by attaching the end of the chain into the open loop of another eye pin. Close the loop using the round nose pliers.

    • 6

Place a 6mm bead on to the wire of the eye pin. Bend the wire perpendicular to the loop on the other side of the bead. Use the wire cutter to trim the wire to about 3/8 inch. Grip the end of the wire firmly with the round nose pliers. Rotate your wrist to roll the wire towards the bead, forming a loop identical to the eye of the eye pin. In the open loop of the eye pin place the next eye pin. Repeat this pattern nine times to form one decade. Leave the last loop of the eye pin slightly open for the next step.

    • 7

Slip the end of the last five-link chain into the open loop of the eye pin. Use the round nose pliers to close the loop.

    • 8

Grip the small jump ring on each side of its opening with both pairs of pliers. Bend the jump ring sideways in opposite directions to open. Insert the end of the lobster claw clasp into the open jump ring. Close the jump ring by bending it back into place.

    • 9

Attach a medium jump ring to the end of the five-link chain on the other end of the bracelet. Repeat step 8.

    • 10

Open the last jump ring. Insert the crucifix/cross and medal onto the jump ring. Hook the jump ring through the chain in between the 8mm bead and the 6mm bead. Close the jump ring using the method shown in step 8.

Tips & Warnings

  • Check all jump rings to ensure that they are firmly closed.
