1
Choose three colors for your bracelet. The colors should complement each other, so try picking three different shades of the same color or all light colors or all dark colors.
-
2
Cut an arm's length piece of embroidery floss for each color. Tie the three pieces together with a knot at one end, leaving about 1/2 inch of thread at the end of the knot.

3
Using a piece of tape, secure the end of the bracelet to a table. Or, use a safety pin to attach the bracelet to a pant leg, bag or other stationary object.
-
4
Line up your three strands in a row, and name them A, B and C, from left to right.
-
5
Pick up strand A and make a right angle over strand B so that the floss looks like the numeral 4. Wrap the end of strand A around strand B so that the end comes back through the middle of the 4, and tightly pull strand A to the top of the knot. Repeat this step one more time.
-
6
Repeat step 5, except you should be making your knot with strand A over strand C. Strand A should now be on the far right side of your bracelet.
-
7
Repeat steps 5 and 6, starting with strand B making knots over strands C and A. When strand B is on the far right side, then repeat steps 5 and 6, making knots with strand C over strands A and B.
-
8
Your bracelet should now have three rows of color, and strand A should be back on the left side of the bracelet. Repeat this pattern until the bracelet is the desired length.
-
9
When the bracelet is long enough, tie a knot at the end. You can then either tie the bracelet onto your wrist or use a small safety pin to allow the bracelet to come on and off easily.
