Instructions

  1. Replacing the Refrigerator

    • 1

Remove everything from the refrigerator and store perishables in coolers or another refrigerator.

    • 2

Pull the old refrigerator away from the wall so you are able to unplug it from the electrical outlet.

    • 3

Find the closest shut-off valve to any water lines supplying the refrigerator and shut it off. Disconnect the water line at the back of the refrigerator.

    • 4

Remove the old refrigerator from the space to make room for the new one.

    • 5

Slide the new black refrigerator into the newly vacated space, allowing yourself enough room to connect the water line (if necessary) and electrical plug according to the manufacturer's instructions. After restoring these connections and re-opening the shut-off valve, slide the refrigerator back toward the wall.

    • 6

Read the manufacturers instructions before using your new modern-looking refrigerator.

    Removing an Existing Gas Stove

    • 7

Unplug your old stove, and be sure to remove all pots and pans from any storage areas or warming drawers.

    • 8

Pull the old stove away from the wall just far enough to determine the amount of slack in the gas line so you do not pull apart the connection. Use a dolly to move the stove out far enough so that you can get behind it or at least reach the gas connectors.

    • 9

Shut the gas off at the shutoff valve, then turn on one of the cooking surface knobs for a few seconds to allow the gas to clear out.

    • 10

Disconnect the gas line using two pipe wrenches and finish pulling out the stove to remove it from the space.

Installing a New Black Gas Stove

    • 11

Fasten the gas line to the connector to the back of the stove. Use thread compound to ensure a tight connection.

    • 12

Tighten the connection with two pipe wrenches.

    • 13

Check for any leaks using soapy water. The water will bubble to indicate any leaks that will need attention.

    • 14

Plug your new black stove into the electrical outlet and follow the directions for clock setting and cooking use.

    Taking Out an Old Dishwasher

    • 15

Unplug the dishwasher from the outlet. If the unit is wired directly, turn off the circuit that is supplying your dishwasher's power.

    • 16

Test the dishwasher to ensure the power is dead. Open the door on the wiring harness underneath the unit and disconnect all the wires.

    • 17

Shut off the water supply lines at the nearest shut-off valves, then disconnect the hoses.

    • 18

Disconnect the drain hose from the sewer line.

    Installing a New Black Dishwasher

    • 19

Clamp the drain line to your sink's sewer drain in the same manner as the old line.

    • 20

Connect the supply lines to the existing water lines. If the pipes are plastic, use pipe glue to prevent leaks; for copper pipes, you will need to solder the connections.

    • 21

Turn on the water at the shut-off valve and check for leaks.

    • 22

Insert the power line into the wire box underneath the unit and connect the wires according to the schematic chart.

    • 23

Flip on the circuit breaker and check that the dishwasher is powered before pushing it into position.

Tips & Warnings

  • Always follow the manufacturers instructions for installation and use of any new appliances.

  • Cut the water line as close to the refrigerator as possible to leave enough line for the new refrigerator.
