How to make a 3D pop up card

A 3 D and a pop-up!Sounds complicated.But it isn't.In fact,it is so simple you will want to make it on every occasion.Christmas,Mother's day,Baby shower or Birthday.It will bring a smile on the faces of your near and dear ones.This is a cool technique I learned in seventh grade and I was amazed at the simplicity of the idea and the wonderful result.

Things You'll Need

• 12 pieces of colored paper(100mm x 100 mm)
• A Greeting card
• Glue

Instructions

1. 

   Number all your 12 pieces.

2. 

   Place some glue on the 12 pieces as per the image.Paste glue on all the corners I have marked as blue dots in the image.(Click to enlarge and see the dots,they are placed diagonally.To help you remember where they are placed just keep in mind that if you join them they will form an inverted V.So 2 inverted V's in each line)

3. 

   Now,keep placing one piece over the other sequentially as you have numbered them.Place the piece numbered one first,then second and so on till the twelfth piece.They will stick to each other and form a pile.

4. 

   Take your greeting card and open it.Where it is creased,place the pile of cards as per the image.Glue the pile to the card by applying glue on the blue dots shown in the image.

5. 

   Repeat the same for sticking the pile to the back page of the card.

6. 

   Open the card and you are done!

Tips & Warnings

• You can make your own tree and flower pop-ups using the technique.The first image is a flower pop-up using the same.
