Rock tile showers add a touch of elegance to the shower experience. These tiles display soothing, neutral colors with a rustic outdoor feel and are becoming popular in many modern homes. Caring for the rock tile shower can be a fairly easy process, when you incorporate the proper cleaning ingredients. A simple homemade solution will clean the shower, eliminating the build up of soap scum, mildew and other elements that develop in shower areas.
Things You'll Need
- Spray bottle
- Dish detergent
- Baking soda
Mix 2 parts water with 1 part white vinegar in a spray bottle. This diluted solution will safely clean and disinfect the stone shower, leaving the area free of bacteria and mildew.
Add 1/2 cup baking soda to the bottle, which will clean and eliminate odor. Showers can sometimes develop a mildewed or musty odor from exposure to extended periods of moisture, making baking soda the perfect deodorizing agent. Pour 2 tbsp. liquid dish detergent into the spray bottle as well which will cut through soap scum and other buildup. Twist the cap onto the spray bottle, and shake gently to mix ingredients.
Spray the solution onto the rock tiles and wipe clean with a damp sponge. Repeat as needed until you reach the desired result.
