Knowing your sink measurements may not be something you would think is necessary. However, when it comes to kitchen remodeling, or even if you just want a new sink, knowing the exact measurements is vital to get the correct size sink. Measuring a sink it not only easy, but it will only take a few seconds.
Lower the measuring tape into the sink to measure the depth, which is the area from the bottom of the sink to the top of the sink. Make sure to open the tape measure vertically in the sink.
Hold the tape measure in your right hand and hold the silver tab on the beginning of the tape measure down onto the bottom of the sink with your left hand.
Raise the tape measure with your right hand, keeping the tab of the tape down with your left hand.
Raise the tape to the top of the sink. Note how many inches (or feet) the depth of the sink is.
Record the numbers on a sheet of paper.
Tips & Warnings
- Depth is measuring from the bottom of the inside of the sink to the top
- Width is measuring of the front of the sink to the back
- Length is measuring the longest sides of the sink from left to right
