Have an assistant hold the dog up for measuring if he is unable to stand.

Take the dog's waist measurement. Wrap the flexible tape measure around the dog's waist just in front of where his rear legs meet his body. Pull the tape measure snug but not tight enough to make an impression in his waist.

Take the dog's hind leg measurement. Measure the dog's thigh at the fattest part of his leg. Pull the measuring tape snug but not tight enough to make an impression in his leg.

Take the dog's leg height measurement. Measure the front of the dog's rear leg from the floor to the fold of the flank where the hind leg meets his belly.

Use these measurements to order the wheelchair on-line or check with your veterinarian to see if he can supply you with one. Check on-line auction sites or on-line classified sites to see if you can find a used wheelchair.
