Copper is a beautiful color and an inexpensive metal to use to make stunning jewelry. You can make striking fashion jewelry with materials purchased from your local hardware store or plumbing supply house. This tutorial will explain how to make a necklace from copper pipe.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • tube cutting jig or pipe cutter
  • file
  • sand paper
  • necklace mandrel
  • copper pipe
  1. Step 1

Gather your tools and materials. Select the size copper pipe your want to use. Piping designed for refrigerators is a particularly nice size to use for jewelry making.

  2. Step 2

Measure 16 to 18 inches of copper pipe, depending on the size necklace you want to make.

  3. Step 3

Cut the copper pipe with a pipe cutter or tube cutter.

  4. Step 4

File and then sand both ends of the copper pipe until the copper is quite smooth and suitable to be worn as jewelry.

  5. Step 5

Bend the copper pipe using a necklace mandrel until it is in the shape of a necklace. Adjust the pipe until it sits comfortable on the collar bone.

  6. Step 6

The neck ring can be worn alone or used to hang charms.
