How to Make Bath Fizzies
Colorful bath fizzies that you've made at home look pretty and smell great, which makes them ideal for gift-giving. When the special ingredients in a fizzy mix with bath water, a bubbly reaction occurs. One necessary ingredient is citric acid, which can be found at winemaking supply stores or from online retailers. Present bath fizzies in an airtight, decorative glass container. Things You'll Need
- 2 tablespoons citric acid
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- 3 tablespoons essential oil, such as coconut, lavender or almond
- 3 to 6 drops of food coloring, if desired
- Mixing bowls
- Spoon
- Paper cups
- Glass container

Place citric acid, cornstarch and baking soda in a bowl and mix well.

In a separate bowl, mix essential oil and food coloring.

Slowly add the oil mixture to the dry ingredients and mix well.

Using your hands, scoop some of the mixture and shape it into a 1-inch ball. Continue shaping the mixture into balls. Lay them on a sheet of waxed paper for two to three hours, then place each ball into a paper cup to dry and harden for 24 to 48 hours. Store fizzies in a closed, air-tight container.

To use, drop one to three fizzies into warm bath water.
