Bringing your old screen along will ensure that you are getting the right size and type for your window frame. If you would prefer not to bring in your old screen, measure the dimensions of your current screen and write it down. Bring the paper with the dimensions on it with you when you go to buy a new one.

Decide where to buy your new window screen. You have multiple options to choose from. Home Depot, Sears, Menards, hardware stores and many others (depending on your location) will carry a wide selection of window screens.

Select your new screen. There will be a range of different screen types available, so research and choose the type best suited to your needs. If you didn't bring your old screen with you, check the dimensions of the screens available and select a matching one.
