Purchase a bottle of acetone from a local drug store or market. Most common nail polish removers are actually pure acetone.

Use a well-ventilated workspace to prevent inhaling hazardous amounts of acetone. Open a window if your countertop is indoors.

Protect your hands with a pair of latex gloves, and apply a small amount of acetone to a rag or a cotton swab. Wipe the chemical solution directly onto the super glue until it begins to soften, being cautious not to touch any unaffected areas of the countertop as excessive acetone can tarnish it.

Loosen and lift the glue with a plastic scraper using a medium amount of pressure. Wrap the remainder of the dried glue in a paper towel and dispose of it.

Wash the surface of the countertop with a clean cloth and warm, soapy water to remove any remnants of the glue.
