Instructions

    • 1

Cut large sheets of plastic to fit each window opening. Plastic sheeting can be purchased at your local Ace Hardware or Home Depot. It comes in a roll in a variety of different thicknesses. Since we are using it for insulation purposes, the thicker the plastic the better.

    • 2

Staple the plastic sheets over the outside of your windows leaving a 5 inch gap between the window. Staples should be placed about every 8 inches along the plastic. The plastic sheeting helps to form an insulated layer in the same effect as double pain gas filled windows do.

    • 3

Run a single layer of caulk cord along the edge of the plastic sheeting to form an air tight seal. Caulk cord normally comes in a small roll and is flat in appearance.
