Check to make sure the lid is closed completely. If the lid is opened often, the freezer will warm. Try to only go in and out of the freezer when necessary.

2
Give the freezer time to stabilize large amounts of new food. If you just added a large amount of warm foods, it can take as much as 3 to 5 hours for the freezer temperature to cool.

3
Allow the freezer to cool for 6 to 8 hours before filling. If this is your first use or if you changed the power source, allow the freezer to cool overnight before adding food. Try not to add more than 2 to 3 pounds of unfrozen food per cubic foot of freezer space.

Check the gasket. The gasket must be sealed properly and without tears. If it is torn, replace it. If it is dirty, clean it with warm, soapy water and dry it immediately. Apply a light coating of petroleum jelly to ensure an airtight seal.

5
Reset the controls. The control knob is located on the outside of the freezer on the lower right side. Use a flat-blade screwdriver or a coin in the slot, and turn to the desired setting. A setting of 4 is designed to maintain the freezer cabinet at or near 0°F (-17.8°C) under normal operating conditions.
