Instructions

    • 1

Measure and pour one ounce of fragrance oil into the jar. Add two drops of candle coloring to the oil if you want to make colored soy beads. Mix well with spoon.

    • 2

Add beads to the jar. Start with a smaller amount (a half pound) to make sure you have enough oil-dye mixture to adequately cover and saturate the beads.

    • 3

Stir the beads until they are mixed thoroughly. Place the lid on the jar, and shake well. Add more beads if there is a lot of extra oil-dye mixture.

    • 4

Wait for the beads to fully absorb the oil, which can take a few hours to a few days.

    • 5

Remove the beads from the jar once they are dry. Put them in a decorative container, such as a small bowl or jar, with a porous top to let the aroma out. Be creative in the presentation of your creation.

Tips & Warnings

  • If the beads have still not absorbed all of the oil after a few days, add more beads and shake well. Divide your beads into two or more jars to create multiple colors. Use fragrances such as lavender and vanilla for a calming effect.

  • Keep beads away from heat. Do not place the beads on wood, fabric or painted surfaces. The oil and dye will stain and leave marks on many surfaces. Be sure the beads are dry and the oil is absorbed before packaging the beads.
