A regular part of indoor home maintenance is keeping flooring clean, and it's just as important to keep outdoor flooring free or dirt and debris. Outdoor floors are exposed to the elements, and mold and bacteria can quickly build up in the grouted portion of tile floors that are left unkempt. Fortunately, maintaining a tile patio is a simple process that can be done in a few minutes.
Things You'll Need
- Oxygen bleach
Cleaning Patio Tile
Sweep away loose dirt and debris using a stiff-bristled outdoor broom.
Power-wash the tile patio beginning in an inner corner and working your way toward the outer edge.
Mix a solution of oxygen bleach and warm water, per the manufacturer's instructions. Pour over the tile, and allow to penetrate for at least 15 minutes.
Scrub the tile using a nylon brush, focusing on the grout.
Rinse the tile thoroughly with the power washer to remove soap residue, and allow it to dry.
Tips & Warnings
- Spraying the pressure washer with a sweeping back-and-forth motion will bring the best results.
