1
Relieve pressure to the fuel lines by locating the fuse for your fuel pump in the fusebox on the left hand side the dashboard (use the owner's manual to determine which fuse is for the fuel pump). Start the truck and then pull the fuse for the pump. The engine should run for a few seconds and then quite for lack of fuel. That effectively clears the fuel lines of fuel and releases any built up pressure in the lines so that no fuel spills out when your remove the pump.

2
Disconnect the negative battery terminal to avoid sparks. Crawl under the truck near the fuel-filler cap, and find the fuel line running from the front of the gas tank toward the front of the truck. Disconnect it from the tank with the pliers and screwdriver.

3
Place the jack beneath the gas tank and raise it to hold up the tank. Use the crescent wrenches to remove the mounting bolts on the gas tank mounting straps. Lower the tank slowly using the jack.

4
Remove the screws in the fuel pump mount on top of the gas tank and use the pliers to disconnect the fuel pump tubes. Unscrew the fuel pump from the mounts and remove it from the tank. Disconnect the pump wiring harness.
-
5
Slide the new pump back into the mount, tighten down the mounting screws with the screwdriver, and remount the fuel tubes onto the new fuel pump fittings. Reconnect the pump wiring harness.

6
Raise the tank back into position with the jack, remount the mounting bolts, and reconnect the fuel line to the front of the gas tank. Reconnect the negative battery terminal, replace the fuse, and start the car to make sure the pump is connected properly.

Tips & Warnings
Turn the key to "Accessories On" for 3 to 5 seconds before starting the truck, as that allows the pump to prime the gas line and deliver fuel to the intake assembly.
