Instructions
Things You'll Need
- Several articles with original content
- Accounts at multiple writing sites
- Main website or blog you want to feature
-
-
1
Make sure that the main site you want to feature is complete, filled of your original content and optimized for your targeted keyword.
-
2
Write several articles related to the particular keyword or market that you will be targeting. Be sure that the articles are related to each other as well. Have as many articles ready as you have accounts at different writing sites, or connections with colleagues who would like you to write guest articles on their sites.
-
3
Begin by posting the first article on your first content site. Be sure to post a link to your main site that you are featuring. That main site is acting as the central focal point for all of the article "spokes" in your link wheel.
-
4
Wait a day or two and post the second article on the second content site with a link pointing to the main site and also to the first article. Continue posting articles on the various writing sites until you have posted four to ten different articles on the same number of writing sites. Each article should have two links. One will point to your main site, and one will point to the previously published "spoke" article.

When you post your last article, go to the first one published and complete the wheel by adding a second link on that article to the last one published.

Tips & Warnings
Plan ahead by writing out on paper what sites you plan to use and a general topic for the article on that site. Draw arrows to visualize your link wheel.
Make sure that you are only linking in one direction. Do not link from your main site to any of the other sites. You want one-way links.
Spread out the publishing of the articles and the links so the appearance of the links appears more natural over time.
