Duct tape is a resourceful product that can be used for a variety of tasks, including making duct tape balls. Duct tape balls, like the tape's usage, come in many forms, ranging from small balls consisting of many layers of duct tape applied around a small bouncy ball, to heavy medicine balls. A duct-tape-enforced medicine ball is a valuable workout aid, which can be used to train the muscles used in throwing.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Plastic bag
  • Sand
  • Several rolls of duct tape
  1. Step 1

Fill the plastic bag with sand to the desired weight of your ball.

  2. Step 2

Seal the bag, pressing as much air out before sealing as possible.

  3. Step 3

Wrap the entire bag in a layer of duct tape by tearing off strips long enough to wrap around the entire circumference, and overlapping them slightly.

  4. Step 4

Round out the shape of the weighted bag by adding more tape to areas that need to be padded out until the object is roughly in a round shape.

  5. Step 5

Continue to build around the shape by tearing off 12-inch-long strips of duct tape and securing them, until your ball reaches the desired diameter. The larger your ball is, the more smooth you will be able to make it.

Tips & Warnings
  • A small soccer ball or basketball can be a great foundation in place of the bag. Simply slice a small hole in the ball, fill it with sand using a funnel, and tape over the slice, then proceed with the 12-inch strips.
