Hosting a Halloween gathering does not mean spending a lot of time preparing the food. These easy to make Halloween party recipes, for desserts, will make serving sweet and scary treats simple and quick.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Ghost Meringue Easy to Make Halloween Dessert

    3 large egg whites
    ½ teaspoon cream of tartar
    ¾ cup granulated sugar
    ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
16 to 24 miniature semisweet chocolate chips or pieces of semisweet chocolate
    2 cookie sheets
    Deep mixing bowl
    Parchment paper
Pastry cone or roll up a sheet of waxed paper into a cone shape, with a sharp tip, and tape.

    • Set oven for 200 degrees
    • Line the cookie sheets parchment paper.
    • Put the egg whites and cream of tartar into bowl and mix, with a mixer, on high speed until thick.
    • Add sugar, 1/8th cup at a time at 30 second intervals, while continuing to mix. Mix until stiff peaks form.
    • Mix in vanilla.
    • Spoon meringue into a pastry cone with ½ inch tip or wax paper cone with ½ inch cut off the end.
    • Pipe meringue onto the cookie sheets forming ¼ to ½ inch thick ghost shapes. Be creative making them 2-4 inches wide and 4-6 inches long. Keep each ghost 2 inches apart.
    • Make the ghost eyes by slightly pressing the chocolate chips into the meringue shapes.
    • Bake for 45 minutes and turn cookie sheets around. Continue baking for another 15 to 45 minutes or until meringue begins to turn golden.
    • Turn off the oven, leave the oven door closed, and let meringue sit for 1 additional hour.
    • Remove cookie sheets and transfer the Halloween ghosts to a serving dish.

  2. Step 2

Eerie Eyeballs - Easy to Make Halloween Party Recipe

    ½ gallon vanilla ice cream
    20 blueberries
    Red food coloring
    Toothpicks
1 six-ounce package red gelatin dessert
    10 Ice cream dessert dishes

    • Place two scoops ice cream in each dessert dish.
    • Put a blueberry on each scoop for the pupil.
    • Dip a toothpick into the red food coloring and swirl around the pupil to form the look of irritated eyes.
    • Freeze for 30 minutes.
    • Prepare the red gelatin per package instructions and chill, not to firm.
    • When gelatin is chilled pour ¼ cup around the base of the ice cream scoops.
    • Freeze.

  3. Step 3

Easy to Make Halloween Party Dessert - Ghostly Strawberry

    30 fresh strawberries
8 ounces white baking chocolate, cut into pieces
    1 teaspoon shortening
    1/8 teaspoon almond extract
¼ cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
    2 Microwave safe bowls
Wax paper lined cookie sheet that will fit into the freezer
    Toothpicks

    • Clean strawberries with water and dry completely. Set aside
    • Place the pieces of white chocolate and shortening into bowl and microwave, at 50% power, for 30 seconds. Stir. If the mixture is not smooth microwave for another 15 seconds and stir. When smooth add extract and stir.
    • Hold strawberry by the crown and dip into the white chocolate mixture. Place on cookie sheet and immediately place two chips into the coating for eyes. Do this immediately so the chips will stick to the coating.
    • Freeze for 5 minutes to firm. Take out of freezer and let sit for a few minutes.
    • In the second bowl melt the remaining chips in the microwave, at 50% power, until smooth. Dip a toothpick into the chocolate mixture and draw a circle under the eyes for the ghost's mouth.
