How to Clean Platinum Appliances

While stainless steel appliances are still very popular, one of the new trends in kitchenware is platinum. Platinum appliances are attractive, sleek and fairly expensive. You can get a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and many other appliances in platinum nowadays. Dust, food and fingerprints can leave marks and debris on your appliances. To keep the platinum looking its best, clean it on a regular basis. Keep in mind that using abrasive cleaners on your platinum can cause scratches.

Things You'll Need

  • Duster
  • Bowl
  • Dish soap
  • Water
  • Three washcloths
  • Dust your platinum appliance thoroughly. Not dusting can lead to dirt and debris becoming sticky, making it harder to remove.

  • Fill your bowl with warm water.

  • Add a few drops of dish soap to your water. Swirl your fingers in the water to mix.

  • Submerge your washcloth and wring out any excess water.

  • Wash the platinum appliance using a circular motion.

  • Wet your second washcloth with water. Wring out any excess water and wipe down your appliance using a circular motion.

  • Dry your appliance with your third washcloth. Use a circular motion to dry.
