How to Troubleshoot a Kenmore Coldspot

Kenmore Coldspot is a type of side by side by side rator model sold exclusively through Sears. Features of the Coldspot include a large capacity freezer, an ice maker and water filtration system. If you experience problems with your Coldspot refrigerator, try a few troubleshooting methods before you call for service. Some common issues include power failure, excessive refrigerator noise, leakage and temperature inconsistencies.

Things You'll Need

• Household fuses
• Washcloth
• Soap
• Warm water
• Plastic utensil

Instructions

1. Check the power source if the Coldspot will not turn on. Make sure you are using a three-prong outlet and that the outlet works. You may need to reset the circuit breaker as well as replace any blown household fuses.

2. Make sure the door is closed firmly if the temperature is too warm or a lot of moisture has built up inside the fridge.

3. Clean gaskets of the Kenmore fridge if you have difficulty opening the door. Use a washcloth soaked in mild soap and warm water to remove any dirt and debris from the gaskets.

4. Change the light bulb inside of the fridge if the light does not turn on upon opening the door. The light bulb may have burned out.

5. Adjust the thermostat control inside of the Coldspot if the temperature is too warm. After changing the thermostat, allow 24 hours to pass before rechecking the temperature.

6. Examine the water supply connection to make sure it is properly installed and the water supply valve is open. This can help resolve problems with dispensing water and ice making.

7. Use a plastic utensil to remove any ice that may become jammed in the ejector arm of the dispenser.
