How to Tie a Shoelace
Tying a shoelace is a task young children are eager to learn. If you're used to wearing shoes with a Velcro closing, tying a shoelace can be a challenge . Although there are several methods or ways of tying shoelaces, most people learn only one or two ways. The most common way of tying shoelaces is the standard knot method. Does this Spark an idea?

Starting Knot

Begin with a starting knot. Cross the right shoelace over the left so that the right shoelace is now on the left side and the left lace is on the right side.

Wrap the right shoelace around the back of the left lace. Thread the right shoelace through the loop between the laces.

Pull the right shoelace through the loop and pull both ends tight.
Standard Shoelace Knot

Fold the right lace and make a loop at the top.

Pass the left lace behind the right loop and continue it around the right loop until it ends up in the front.

Feed the left lace into the hole created in Step 2, grab both loops (one through the hole and one outside the hole) and pull the loops.

Pull the loops until the knot is tight.
