Make a Thanksgiving Cornucopia for a Thanksgiving craft.

Thanksgiving brings the thought of cornucopias and family gatherings. You can make a Thanksgiving cornucopia to add to your table decorations. It’s also a fun Thanksgiving craft for homeschooling. You can use this Thanksgiving craft on a rainy day with your kids. Share this Thanksgiving craft with a teacher to use in the classroom. The Thanksgiving cornucopia craft should take about 30 minutes to make and is an inexpensive Thanksgiving craft to enjoy.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Begin the Thanksgiving cornucopia by slightly overlapping four paper plates. On the right end and underneath the first four plates, place a fifth plate slightly higher than the other four.

  2. Step 2

Attach the five plates together. You can either do this with a stapler or use glue or tape on the bottom side of the plates.

  3. Step 3

Use scissors to cut a “tail” in the last plate. Just cut a small section out of that plate so that it curls up like the end of a Thanksgiving cornucopia.

  4. Step 4

Use brown paint (for instance water color or tempera) to paint the entire paper plate cornucopia. Allow it to dry.

  5. Step 5

Look through the ads in the newspaper for the grocery stores or through cooking magazines for pictures of vegetables and cut them out. Glue these pictures to the first plate on the Thanksgiving cornucopia that represents the opening.

  6. Step 6

Poke two holes in the top of the cornucopia. String yarn through the holes to use a hanger so the cornucopia can be hung.
