The Husqvarna 350 chainsaw is well known for being an incredibly powerful and versatile professional-level chainsaw. Chainsaws, of course, can be very useful as it pertains to outdoor work, but they're also incredibly dangerous and can deathly injure anyone who uses one. Chainsaws should always be dealt with in a serious manner, as they are powerful tools and not toys. Starting a Husqvarna 350 chainsaw from a cold start isn't difficult, but it must be done properly to ensure a quick and easy start.

Instructions

Step 1

Activate the chain brake by pushing the front hand guard forwards.
Step 2

Set the choke control in the designated choke position; this should automatically set the stop switch to the start position.
Step 3

Start throttle by moving the control to the choke position.
Step 4

Press the decompression valve to reduce the pressure in the cylinder and make starting easier. The decompression valve should always be used when starting the chainsaw. Once the chainsaw has started, the valve will return to its original setting.
Step 5

Grip the front handle with your left hand and hold the chain saw on the ground by placing your right foot through the rear handle.
Step 6

Pull the starter handle with your right hand, pulling the starter cord out slowly until you feel resistance. Once you feel resistance, pull the cord firmly and rapidly.
Step 7

Push in the choke control as soon as the engine starts and then make repeated starting attempts. To disengage the throttle latch, immediately press and release the throttle when the engine starts.

Tips & Warnings

The engine must return to idling speed as soon as possible, as the chain brake is still activated. This occurs by disengaging the throttle latch to avoid unnecessary wear on the clutch assembly.
Never start a chain saw unless the bar, chain, and all covers are fitted correctly. The clutch can come loose and cause personal deadly injuries. Never wrap the starter cord around your hand.
