How to Host a "Casablanca" Party
Cocktail and dinner parties are a lovely way to spend time with friends, but there are times when the same old routine gets a little stale and you want to spice things up. One way to add a little zip to your normal routine is to select a theme for your party, such as a "Casablanca" party. Send out invitations to your guests a few weeks in advance so they will have time to RSVP and plan accordingly. Themed invitations are especially striking. Send your guests postcards with a screen shot from the movie. Encourage your guests to come dressed in attire from the 1940s, which is when the film takes place.

Set up various card game stations for your guests to play at, creating your own version of Rick's Cafe. You could have a poker table, a blackjack table and a craps table, for example.

Serve cocktails and dinner to your guests. Select a cocktail befitting of the film's setting, such as champagne or martinis, and serve Moroccan food to match the film's setting as well.
