How to Remove Water From Fuel
Fuel that is contaminated with water will often cause the piece of equipment to run incorrectly. It is essential that the water be removed from the fuel for the machinery to function properly, whether it is a car, motorcycle, lawn mower or other machine.
Instructions
-
-
1
Add a gas treatment to your gasoline. Gas treatments contain solvents and alcohol that remove water from the gas via chemical reactions.
-
2
Hire a professional for what is known as "gas purifying" and "tank cleaning," a process in which a professional filters your tank to remove water from your fuel.
-
-
3
Fill up your tank with high-octane gas (grade 91 or higher) if your tank is less that ½ full and run out the contaminated gas as quickly as possible.
-
4
Discard your gas if the tank is almost full, meaning that it is completely contaminated with water, and fill up with new gas.
-
5
Consider purchasing a fuel-water separator, which separates and drains water from fuel via its innovative valves.

Well I broke down and bought an AquaSock. To my surprise, it worked very well. Droped it in my tank and left it sit for a day and when I pulled it out, I could easily see that the sock did absorb all the water becuase the sock had swelled up to at least 10 times its original size. Pretty nice product. I think I am going to keep one on hand in case I have the problem again in the future. -
