How to replace your RV thermostat

The water in your RV may be too hot sometimes. The reason for that is that the thermostat is set at 140 degrees. To day, I will be installing an adjustable thermostat. So let's get started, just follow the steps below to continue.

Instructions

    • 1

Open up the panel for the water heater. The thermostat is located on the water heater itself.

    • 2

Find where the thermostat is. It is usually labeled T' STAT.

    • 3

There are some wires connected to the thermostat. Pull those wires off.

    • 4

Now remove the thermostat. There are some tabs. Lift those tabs up a little bit and remove the plastic ring that holds the thermostat in place. Now remove the thermostat.

    • 5

Get your new thermostat. Bend the tabs a little bit as this thermostat is a bit bigger

    • 6

Now push the thermostat in the hole. It's a bit of a tight squeeze but it should fit. Install the adapters for the wiring. Install the wiring. So that's it, you are done.
