Remove the air filter from the compressor. Some models may have their filters bolted in, in which case remove the bolts before pulling out the air filter.

    • 4

Clean the air filter by washing it off with water. It is best to take it outside and rinse it with a hose.

    • 5

      Let the filter dry completely.

    • 6

Place the filter back into the air compressor, securing it into place with any bolts if applicable.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you have a gas powered air compressor, this would also be a good time to remove the gas tank and clean it out. Clean the air filter once every other week, or once a week if used in a particularly dusty environment.

  • Some filters may not be reusable, in which case you will have to buy a replacement filter.
