Things You'll Need:
- Phillips screwdriver
- Set of 3/8-inch drive sockets
- 3/8-inch ratchet
- Wire crimpers
- Assorted wire terminals
-
Step 1
Cut the two wires to each of the lights. Loop the red wire for easy identification of the power wire and installation of the new lights.
-
Step 2
Remove the two nuts under the fog lights where the studs run through the bumper with the use of the 3/8-inch socket and a ratchet. Push the bolts straight up and out of the bracket. Remove the fog light with the bracket attached. Remove the opposite side the same way.
-
Step 3
Install the mounting bracket on to the new fog lights, insert the screws in the side and tighten with the Phillips screwdriver. Do the same for both.
-
Step 4
Insert the fog lights into the opening designed for them and line up the holes in the bracket with the holes in the bumper. Insert the bolts through the bracket and down through the bumper. Screw the nuts on and tighten with the socket and ratchet used in removal.
-
Step 5
Connect the wires starting with the red power wire. Strip the insulation off of the ends of both wires--the one on the fog light and the one from the vehicle--using the wire crimpers. Use a blue butt connector terminal to attach both wires together and crimp with the wire crimpers. Do the same thing to the black wire, as this is the ground wire.
-
Step 6
Turn the lights on and aim them at a wall about 10 feet away. Adjust both lights to where they are shinning at knee level when standing in front and straight ahead. To adjust the lights, loosen the Phillips screws in the bracket, move the light and tighten the screws.
