How to keep your Central Air Conditioning Unit in proper working condition.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Central air conditioning can be a lifesaver in the hot humid days of summer. Central air conditioning gained popularity in the late 1950’s; it continues to be the most popular form of air conditioning cooling for businesses and residences. It is critical that your keep your entire air conditioning system in proper working order.

  2. Step 2

First, you should have a technician check the outside unit every 2-3 years to assure proper function. In addition, it is also important to have your inside air ducts cleaned and inspected every 3-5 years. Clogged air vents can prevent the cool air from circulating throughout the home. Normally, when the air ducts are cleaned, the technician will also replace any dirty air filters that may be present.

  3. Step 3

It is best to keep your central air temperature between 68-72 degrees. If you lower the temperature too much, it may become too cold inside the home and it may cause a significant increase in your monthly electric bill.
