Find replacement vertical blinds to fill in those "missing teeth" in the window. The purpose of vertical blinds is to cover a window to block out the sun and elements, and to provide privacy. If you have missing vertical blinds, both of these purposes is lacking.

Sometimes the top tab where the vertical blind attaches to the hardware is torn and is not able to be repaired. Whatever the reason, you need to find replacement vertical blinds.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Measure one of your vertical blind slats before looking for replacement vertical blinds. Measure across the width of the slat and down the length of one of the existing vertical blinds. Write down these numbers.

  2. Step 2

Determine what your blinds slats are made of before finding those missing slats. Vertical blind slats can be made of PVC or vinyl, fabric, metal, wood, cane or bamboo, or canvas.

  3. Step 3

Search online using "replace vertical blinds" for a choice of online stores that sell replacement vertical blinds. Find the vertical blinds tab or enter the size (width and length) and search for the options available.

  4. Step 4

Shop at retail stores. Search online or look in your phone book (remember that, it's a yellow book with people and businesses listed). Look under "window coverings" or "window blinds" to find a store in your area that sells vertical blinds. Visit the stores to find replacement vertical blinds.

An advantage of going to find vertical blinds and looking at them in person is that you are able to better match the replacement slats to your existing ones.
